Impressions of: drizzled caramel over biscuits, pumpernickel twang, subdued farmhouse funk Above all, this offering is a reminder to us that your support makes all of this possible.Įstate Stock Ale, 6.2%. This is a milestone for us, as our most sincere offering yet of Land Beer that directly expresses this farm. From planting estate barley to presenting to you, Violetta has been in process for nearly three years. The combination of ingredients and methods reflects our land, farming practices, and brewing approach at the time this beer was made. After open fermenting in our barn loft, this ale rested in oak barrels before bottle conditioning. Delicate esters from the wild-captured yeast dance playfully around the gentle malt base. Carefully custom craft malted estate barley was left as close to its natural state as possible. It was made with water we drew from our natural source, grains we grew and harvested in our East Field, yeast native to our West Field, and hops from a small farm a few miles from us. Impressions of: sliced pear, wildflowers, apricot flesh, juniper, westerly winds Finishing crisp and dry, thanks to the months this unfiltered beer spent tank conditioning.Įstate Piedmont Ale, 6%. The result is a delicate, floral impression on the nose with what we can only describe as a “Wheatland” malt expression for its backbone. We’re happy with how the Alsatian hops gracefully integrate with the malt’s delicate profile. Once ready, the barley we grew was gently custom-malted in small batch to retain as much of the field’s character as possible. The Estate line of beer is the first built upon 100% of the grain being farmed, fermented, conditioned, and packaged at Wheatland Spring. Over the last years of operation, we’ve used estate grain and other ingredients we grow in many offerings. You can see the grain fields from the brew deck. What’s Estate grain? It’s grain we plant on the land we tend, here on the farm. Our third season of Estate grain was planted in the fall of 2020 and harvested in the summer of 2021. We grew 100% of the barley in this beer at Wheatland Spring. Impressions of: spring flowers, fresh citrus zest, cedar wood, Wheatland
